Father John's Memorial Mass

We went to the memorial Mass for Fr John Dunlea, and I was surprised how few people were there. I was overcome with sadness.  He was such a big influence in our lives, a very quiet achiever. All the memories came flooding back, the breakfasts on a Sunday morn after mass, how many pieces of toast did he butter and jam before he realised Martin was swiping it. He was such a help when I was going rhrough the separation, and then of course he married Martin and Lara. It was him who came and told me that Declan was leaving the seminary, he was always so gentle, he will be sadly missed.

Today we went to Nazarine Nursing Home, for some reason Rita didn't make any arrangements for when she went on holidays, but I muddled my way through helping Fr Donal. Tony did the singing, he was quite flat, but the ladies loved it.

From there we went for coffee, but decided against it, instead we put the money in the china orphanage jar.
