My day started by going to Mass at 9am,and then to the Nursing Home to visit and bring Holy Communion to some of the inmates, this is a very humbling time for me to see what is just around the corner for ourselves.
From there we set off for Warwick, we stopped at Toowoomba for lunch and then drove through some small country towns which are all quite pretty and green after so much rain, we stopped in at Allora for afternoon tea which was like an old world restaurant overlooking pretty gardens and old fashioned service with piklets and cream, very decadent!
We arrived at the Motel which I had booked on Tuesday night(Country Rose)only to be told we didn't have a booking as they had double booked the room, this did not go down very well with me and I let aknow in uncertain tones that I was not happy.
The Proprietor rang and organised a room at another Motel for us which was much nicer and cheaper and in which we will be staying in future, luckily I brough our oats and I was able to make our porridge for breakie
we met Sandy and boys and arranged to have dinner at the RSL which was great the food was great but I was still full from lunch and afternoon tea.
Later we watched the footy which was terrible and scrappy and players fighting not a great game at all, and I believe Melb. got the rough end of the stick.
Saturday
Rain piddling down and cold, went to mass and then Sandy and I went to the Op shop her favorite shop and she bought some more crapola!
We left for home around 11.30 and got home around half past two we were held up for about 20minutes on the highway,
Sunday
Mass 7.30am and breakie afterwards and there was a stall to raise some funds for the Vinnies for Christmas hampers. Of course I bought some stuff which I didn't need but it was for a good cause.
Deidre and Tj came over and we had sausage rolls and tea and played cards we took the dog for a walk and she left around 3pm.
Start of Married life
We lived in South Brisbane for a month and then moved to another flat at Bowen Hills where we lived for about 12 months, then we had our first baby (Margaret Mary) who of course was the most beautiful child ever born, she was a delight to have It wasnt long before I got pregnant again and we moved into a house in Bowen Hills which was two doors down the hill to where we were living, and when I was in hospital having number two child (Martin) when my dipstick idiot of a a husband, who I will refer to as (JFK)
had a massive fight with my mother, and of course when imovable objects meet you can bet there will be problems. Not sure how long that lasted but I know it was very tense for sometime.
WE had a very dear friend who gave us some money to put a deposit on a house in Brighton. We had an Irish lad living with us Tony Lamont who was one of life's gentlemen who I realised JFK was extremely jelous of as Tony would do anything for me and would give me driving lessons and help me in the house and when it came to moving to Brighton him and me did most of it when old lazy bones slept(JFK)
